Photo of chain stitch artist Jessi Woska with antique Cornell chain stitch machine

My name is Jessi Woska (wah-skuh) and I am a Korean-American chainstitcher, illustrator, and sewist based out of Chicago. I use a 100 year old hand crank chainstitch machine — the hand crank machine allows me to freehand embroider each design.

Because of this, every chainstitched piece is completely one of kind.

No automation, no computerization.

I am a one person production. From start to finish, you’ll be working with me directly. I sketch my own designs, construct the banners by hand, design my own packaging, chainstitch each project, and pack and ship myself.

I believe in quality over quantity — in fewer and better things. Every custom piece is made to last a lifetime and beyond.

And I am so grateful that I get to do this every day.
